What Survivors Tell Us
It's more common than it feels.
Numbers like these can feel abstract until it happens to you. Survivors describe the same moment over and over: the stomach-drop of seeing your own image somewhere you never put it, the racing thought of who else has seen it, the fear that no one will believe you or know what to do.
This fear is common. It's also not the end of the story. This is survivable and there is a path forward, even if it doesn't feel like it right now.
What is IBSA?
Image-based sexual abuse, explained
Image-based sexual abuse, or IBSA, encompasses a wide range of abusive activities including the creation, manipulation, theft, extortion, threatened or actual distribution, or any use of images for sexual purposes without the meaningful consent of the person/s depicted or for purposes of sexual exploitation. It is also referred to as non-consensual intimate imagery, or NCII.

Our Roots
New organization. Decades of experience.
Our founders have spent more than two decades in this fight sitting with survivors in their worst moments, and helping build the laws and tools that are only now catching up to the harm. We're a new organization, but this work is not new to us. That's why we believe, without hesitation, that healing and justice are possible.
